Too many times we drive through neighborhoods seeing endless rows of poorly stained fences completed by DIY-ers and “professionals”. Down below are some tips to prevent common mistakes.

Tip #1

Be sure you are using the right products for the job. The market provides thousands of stain options formulated for different job types. Whether a fence or deck you are using the correct product to apply to your fence or deck. In most cases, it is best to not settle with the cheapest options available at your big box hardware stores. Cola Pro has a team of professionals that can help you determine what is right for your project.

Tip #2

Apply your stain following the wood grain direction. This helps achieve an even finish and prevents striping once the stain dries.

Tip #3

The equipment you use to stain your fence or deck is very important. Don’t use the cheapest products expecting professional resorts. Although it is possible that a cheaper product can yield decent results, it is rare, especially when trying a new project for the first time. Whether you use an airless sprayer, rollers, or brushes, buy quality equipment to give yourself a better chance at professional results.
